Long before the arrival of the Europeans, the American continent was inhabited by Indians. Their culture had unique values and practices which governed the way they associated with each other and the environment. The arrival of the Europeans and the consequent colonization impacted negatively on the social setup and lifestyle of this group of people.

The Persian and Greek cultures are two important cultures since they were influential in the development of the current political, economic, and social systems. The two civilizations developed at roughly the same time, with neither one of the two overshadowing the other in terms of economy, politics, or culture.

Archeologists conclude that the African continent is the original home of humankind. Powerful kingdoms have come and gone, leaving evidence of great technological societies as well as remnants of culturally rich populations. The Bolshevik Revolution in Russia was a politically motivated revolution, which took place in 1917. The Revolution was led by the Bolsheviks, a splinter group of the Marxist Russian Social Democratic Party, which became independent from the Menshevik group following the Second Party Congress in the early 20th Century.

The seed was sown earlier after the British forces enforced the series of taxes on the American Colonies which was imposed in the name of defence and security cost. American colonies felt the discrimination that was made by British regulatory authorities as a British person was not made liable to pay tax.

The Munich agreement is a pact signed in September 1938 in Munich Germany to permit the annexation of Nazi Germans and the Czechoslovakia Sudetenland. Five heads of states consisting of the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, Adolf Hitler of Germany, Benito Mussolini, and Edouard Daladier of France signed the agreement.

Détente is a French word, which refers to the relaxing of tensions between warring parties. Concerning extreme poverty, the proportion of the population living below $1 per day has decreased from 0.9% in 1999 to 0.2% in 2005 while those living below $2 per day dropped from 7.3% to 3.1%. This shows that the average income for persons living below $1 and 2$ per day has increased.

Tasked with drawing up the Articles of confederation in 1781, the Congress literally opted for few powers being assigned to the new central government. As a matter of fact, the original federal government not only had little authority over confederate states and their activities such as commerce, the system had no court system and taxation powers.

Through his diplomatic and political skills, Houphouët-Boigny was able to bring together many different elements and led the country forward as a unified whole. This effect was so strong, that during Houphouet-Boigny’s reign, Côte d’Ivoire was perceived as a model state and one to be aspired to. Consequently, on Houphouet-Boigny’s death, he left a significant legacy in his country.

In this paper, I will discuss secularization and fundamentalist reactions by reviewing Bond and Rutherford’s articles. In addition, I will illuminate the two cases using Weber’s analysis of power in “Class Status and Society”. Lastly, the paper intends to examine social movements as examined by Tilly & Tarrow. While Bond and Rutherford view secular religion as an indicator of collective uprising, Weber, on the other hand, views power as directly correlated with social status and class. 

Slavery has a tremendous negative impact on the lives of the victims according to Harriet Jacobs.The thesis of this study is the effects of slavery to humankind. To help us understand this, we will tackle three topics; how slavery is more damaging to women than men, life in the North after the escape of Jacobs and how slavery undermined families in the south.

However, the drought that occurred in 1930 affected the Plains top soil significantly. The occurring high wind took away the dry, overworked soil, which was reduced to a fine powder. Consequently, dangerous white storms became prominent and changed farmland into desert. Thousands of people became homeless and desperate. This compounded the problems of the Great Depression further.

On a fine Tuesday morning of 11 September 2001, militants associated with the banned organization of Al-Qaeda took control of 4 commercial flights by hijacking them. They crashed two of these passenger planes into the well-known World Trade Centre (WTC), one crashed into the Pentagon and the last one crashed into the grounds of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Babi Yar is an important event in history and a significant part of the Holocaust, as there was the involvement of many Christian leaders and it led to a large scale killing of Jews by Nazis. Babi Yar is accountable not only for eliminating a part of the Jewish community but also for making the lives of remaining Jews miserable and devoid of happiness.

There are various reasons that led North American colonies to revolt against the British Empire. The first set of reasons was based on impositions that were made by the British on the colonies. The other set of reasons is based on the need for self-governance among American colonies. By 1976, all the thirteen American colonies rejected authority imposed by the parliament in Great Britain.

This kind of indirect, hidden command exerted on developing nations by the more advanced and powerful nations is termed as neocolonialism. It is the last stage of imperialism; and is defined as “control of the economic and development destiny by a former colonial area such as Africa by outside powers after independence” (Falola 2009, p.57). 

The idea, which was put during the formation of the United Nations, provided that the two principal powers had to direct the Security Council in formulating the collective security system. However, there emerged mistrust between the two principal powers, which led to divided ideologies of providing collective security.

America vetoes any UN efforts which may go against their interests as well as the interests of their allies like Israel. The Middle East is a region in which human right violations are going on for the last few decades. UN is acting as silent witness amidst all human right violations happening in the Middle East.

Another major area of consideration area issues related to Lucius Catiline. Sallust establishes a late Roman republic that, partly through the influence of Lucius Sulla, had collectively abandoned its values and given way to avarice. Sallust portrays Catiline as taking advantage of this social squalor.

When people refer to the word civil rights, they seem to be referring to the speech of Martin Luther King Junior that touched the hearts of several and became the base of various changes in the US.

The views of many historians are highlighted which helps to draw the series of events that took place.Furthermore, there are biographies of politicians that illustrate and demonstrate their lives and skepticism for the process of modernization. In the light of social, political, religious and cultural theories, the politicians have long succeeded in creating, what they can call, a modern China.

The particular roles in consideration include religion, marriage, politics, education and as part of the economic activities. Most of the world societies have been observed to provide an inferior status to women in comparison to men. This perception was justified by the natural distinction in the male and female. For example many societies used to consider women as an emotional entity thus lacking the capability to make decisions

This competition supremacy on nuclear warfare attracted other countries that also started making nuclear war due to the tension that existed in the world.Both sides directed huge sum of money to the military budget with each side trying to outdo the other.The relations gap between United States and Soviet Union were widened up by differences in economic and political ideologies.

It was the French Revolution which took place first in Europe, particularly in France in 1789, and influenced greatly European politics creating democratic space that spread through North America and Europe (Western Civilization, 2012). After the French Revolution, there came the Industrial Revolution, which took place between 1815 and 1914.
