Aristotle is considered as the leading philosopher whose work although not openly used in modern societies bit of it is still reflected. The philosopher concentrated on all aspects of life especially the existence of knowledge so as to discover why things are the way they are and not otherwise. Aristotle’s work is reflected in his treatises.

 In utilitarian terms, the oil spill is acceptable because it is still part of the greater or common good. There are still far more people who want the oil to fuel their lifestyles, and who have not been directly harmed by the spill, compared with those who are more concerned about caring for birds and fish.

Epicurus is one of the greatest Athenian and philosopher to have ever lived following the death of Alex the great (323 B.c. E). “During his lifetime between 341-271 B.C” (Bailey, 1926, p.57) he wrote his ideologies and opinions on death which still surface in one of his surviving books, Epicurus: The Pleasant Life.

In order to determine whether an argument is acceptable or not, one requires evaluating the quality of the validity of the argument. This passage falls under a deductive argument because the initial premises, suppressed premises support the conclusion. The author of this passage intends that the premise he provides justifies the conclusion.

People learn to apply creativity by harmoniously studying, experimenting, questioning postulates, using imagery, and internalizing data. Though creativity, people harmoniously create leadership posts, and through elections, a system of governance is designed. People’s harmony summarizes their level of creativity in everything they are sorting.

In contemporary society, it is expected that those who are religious uphold some form of truths that showcases their morality. In the political arena, Confucianism outlines the basics that political leaders ought to uphold during their tenure. They were supposed to be selfless and dedicate all their might to serving the interests of those who bestowed them in power.

All humans fear death and all efforts have been put in place to postpone it since knowing it is inevitable. Even the mention of death triggers fears in some of the people. Inevitability and uncertainty of death are what make humans so worried. On the contrary, they love life since it can be planned for since it is something that can be understood.

The land ethic is the enlargement of the community to cover other natural phenomena like water, soil, plants, and animals, as parts of the natural world – together with human groups. The argument is that these phenomena should be preserved and maintained for the common good of the entire natural system. Man is a part of this world.

At different stages of one’s career, an individual has to exhibit certain set of skills and qualities, which make him/her, stand out like nobody else. He has to portray the best of his character and bring out what is not present in the rest of the populace. He has to lead by example, a thing which people of present times usually lack and which is not that easily found in our society.

I find that metaphors are really fascinating. I think that sometimes a metaphor as written by a poet is almost similar to that of sitting behind someone at a stoplight with a personalized license plate. You try to guess what it means and though you have an idea of what it stands for, you really never know the truth.

The cabinets represented a world-view that cherished the “wonder” in a particular artifact more than the necessity of analyzing and classifying that artifact. In other words, the main role of the cabinet of curiosities was to instill a sense of curiosity and wonder in the viewer. The cabinets mainly belonged to professional and amateur scientists.

The preceding analysis has expounded on the Platonic view in regard to the centrality of robust education, talent, and virtues as inherently embedded in the philosopher guardians as being integral in making the best possible rulers. Nonetheless, it is the general feeling in this paper that these attributes do not wholly make them the best.

In conclusion, thus, absolutism holds that anyone who differs from this standpoint is wrong irrespective of his argument. However, relativism agrees that killing a human being is wrong, but leaves room for exceptions with rational reasons hence this is the main difference between absolutism and relativism.

This research topic has revealed the work of Susan Anthony as a social reformist and fighter of women’s rights who relentlessly fought for women to be given equal voting rights as men in the United States. It has also enabled me to learn how Anthony fought for another issue that affected women such as the right to own property.

A good self-presentation may help others have a good picture and impression of ourselves, leading to effective communication. On the other hand, people need to be flexible and align themselves with the cultural context they are in in order to improve interactions and communication with the people around them.

Law is abided here by the Federal agencies, but one can observe how the US deals with his diplomats in a foreign country whilst he committed a punishable crime and how the US expects foreign diplomats to abide by the law in the homeland. Hence, Gert rightly suggests that morality is a way how individuals ought to act (9).

Descartes proposed that while the former is private and internal, the latter is of public domain and is external. This is explained by the theory that the body occupies space and is observable by the senses just like other external entities (like a chair, another person, or a dog).

Descartes provided three arguments for dualism in his Meditations, and other philosophers gave their own explanations of how viable dualism is as a philosophical position. The arguments prove the validity of dualism and remain valid despite objections: the Knowledge Argument, the Argument on the Validity of Predicate Dualism, and Descartes’ Argument from Feigning.

It is how we position ourselves within the world and thus provides us with the emotional stability we need to make sense of our actions.  As a result, we strive emotionally to enforce these ideas that are a part of our internal nature.  Most of the time, they exist under the surface of our awareness because they are supported by the values and ideals of the society in which we live.

There are number of questions that will be investigated. Can yoga be a pathway to personal liberation and freedom; can this liberation define a new way of looking at leadership? Can the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy aid emerging adults in becoming fully expressed and authentic beings.

The utilitarian principle argues in favor of the thought of bringing out the maximum happiness and thus following the rule, this unethical practice would be considered to be correct considering the fact that the result of this experiment was beneficial and was leading to the process of maximizing happiness (Schaefer 2004; Mills 1867).

As Kessler states, this is the simplest definition, for, on the one hand, evil can be defined in all manner of ways as intentional pain, suffering, violence, death, destruction, cruelty, etc. Still, theodicy is generally used to reconcile these perceptions of reality with a conception of God that is pure, true, the sum of the good, and all-loving.

Both Plato and his successor Aristotle have pondered over the issues of ethics and morality that concern human beings and govern the functioning of the societies. Both philosophers have viewed ethics, as the highest attainable state of human mind and moral values are the characteristics, which a person should possess to aim at ethical behavior.

 The Purusha is the fundamental and true being, or you can say, in a given plane it manifests, embodies the true being. In a normal situation, considering the ordinary individual, this true entity is covered up by the persona of ego and the unconscious or ignorant part of Prakriti influenced the knowledge, the unseen hence remains unseen supporting the play of ignorance and obscurity.

The principle necessitates that the distressed be helped unconditionally and if need be again and again without considering the costs of the personal risks that one could experience out of his or her noble act. In addition, the theory evidences that there are no limits to doing what is right and that what is wrong is not being morally right. 

Happiness cannot be achieved when the standards set for it are too high. Most people base their happiness on some sort of achievement that is very unrealistic. Such people keep setting higher standards any time they get to a standard they had set before, and their journey of pursuit of happiness never ceases (Gault 2010).

The question of what constitutes enlightenment has been the subject of numerous philosophical debates without a universally agreeable answer. Immanuel Kant and R. Dearden are some of the many scholars who have attempted to answer the question in depth. I present a discussion on what I comprehend about enlightenment and modern education as per the arguments presented by Kant and Dearden in their two different essays.

Humans are involved in a continuous learning process, where they learn from the environment and the specific experiences that they glean over the period. Through teaching the inherent ability to learn for students can be influenced to identify and explore specialist areas that can be appropriately explored by the students.

Leadership philosophy guides an individual’s actions, behaviors, and thoughts. On the other hand, people’s philosophies are influenced by external and internal forces. People can change who they are by virtue of being leaders and by changing their leadership philosophy.

I was part of the group presentation on the topic of Leadership Competencies during the student personal service classes. At the end of the program, I found that the information I used in the presentation was very useful and critical as pertains to how I approach leadership. In my classes and practice as well, I often apply the following leadership philosophies (Warrick, 1981).

The ability to connect and establish a feasible relationship is essential for productive leadership and it depends on the leaders’ attitude towards his/her followers. Based on my experience as a leader, a successful leader faces the problem instead of running away from it. More so, a successful leader is trustworthy and does not engage in unethical behaviors.

The scholars pointed out that the concept of development brought about a hierarchy of both developed and underdeveloped countries. The former ones are more advanced and superior to the latter, seen as inferior and needing help from the developed ones. The school of thought of the post-development era points out that the development models are ethnocentric.
