Al Qaeda Attack the United States - Assignment Example

In my perspective, the Al-Qaeda group had a justification for their attacks on the Americans. This is because the Americans had a suspected pattern of wrongdoing that triggered Al-Qaeda to launch the attack on them.

The Iraqis sanctions had links with the elimination of nuclear weapons. This brought about theine, poverty and, high inflation to the Iraqis. They felt that the Americans had no satisfaction with the massive destruction their allies had cost them. They then considered acting in compliance with Allah’s order which declared the powers to kill the Americans and their allies a personal duty for all Muslims (Bin-Laden, 1998).

In line with Crenshaw, several bases of terrorism of the 1990s can be marked out to specific actions connected to the Gulf War (Crenshaw, 2003). Al-Qaeda also mentioned the US troop's presence in Saudi Arabia was an additional reason for their attack. The US brought in many armed troops to Saudi Arabia following the Gulf War, and this was an insult to the Iraqis. In the 1998 fatwa, the Alqaeda group leader affirmed that the Americans inhabited their land for a couple of years destroying its assets, giving orders to its leaders, and embarrassing its natives and neighbors. He also stated that they turned the Peninsula into a forefront for fighting the neighboring Muslim commons (Bin-Laden, 1998).

Another reason for the attacks was the US support for Israel. As stated in the 1998 fatwa, the US plan of supporting them was to avert their concentration of them occupying Jerusalem and murder of Muslim inhabitants. They had an interest in destroying Iraq and attempted to portion all the states of the area for instance Iraq and Saudi Arabia and through breaking their union and limitation to assure Israel’s continued existence (Bin-Laden, 1998). In my opinion, al-Qaeda attacked them to reference and obtain the change they needed from the superpower sat that invaded them.

Conclusion

In a nut nutshell, Al-Qaeda had a justification for attacking the US as they were chasing nuclear weapons. This is because the Iraqi thought that the best way to deal with military imperialism and western culture was with the use of weapons. According to Stern (2008), the values had penetrated the Muslim leaders who ruled in line with corrupt western principles. He declared the weapons of the enemies political, economic, and Religion-cultural hence had to be fought at all levels. He went ahead and said that the functions of Jihad were to clean Islam of the West's influences and also to fight back using similar weapons the West purportedly used against Islam (Stern, 2008). The Iraqis also observed the positive reaction the US gave the nuclear countries. They believed that, with no weapons, terrorism was the best decision to get the superpower's consideration in the restoration of their complaints.
